No Gel Soap

Wanted to try something a little different so I decided not to gel this batch of soap and placed it in the freeze overnite instead.    I used my silicone mold from Crafter's Choice and Juniper Breeze fragrance oil.

I love the look of this ungelled soap!  It turned out so creamy and NO ASH!  The smell is amazing and strong.  The only draw back is I could not unmold as quickly....it stayed in the mold for 2 days.  It took one day to completely thaw out and then another day to harden enough to remove.

I will be soaping this way again!

Blessings,
Gloria

  1. Ungelled soaps are my absolute favorite, but I am too impatient to wait for them to set up! Love those colors and swirl, and the texture on top is just perfect Gloria!

    1. Thanks Cee. I am very impatient too but was going out of town for a day so it was easy to let it sit LOL!

  2. I love those colors, and the layers look gorgeous! I like to keep many of mine ungelled (but certain colors just look better gelled!) Nice work!

  3. I agree with Cee Gee. Ungelled colors stay truer IMO, but the loaf is not very easy to remove from the mold and the bars take so much longer to get firm. Yours turned out beautiful. The blue and green look so refreshing!

    1. I do love the look Kia so I am going to add a little salt to the next batch to make it a little harder....will post results, wish me luck!

  4. That is one gorgeous soap...love everything about it!! I've only tried to prevent gel once and ended up with partial gel (with nice big power circles, lol)..but I put it in the fridge...maybe I should try the freezer instead?

    1. Hi Kalla! I also used my silicon mold instead of my wooden molds, they don't heat up as quickly. I think the freezer really helps stop the gelling faster than the frig. Thanks for the awesome compliment!

  5. Beautiful, Gloria! I love the green and blue together. I usually gel my soaps, but I should try more ungelled batches. I recently did do a batch of ungelled soap by sticking it in the freezer - I'm curious to see how it compares to gelled soap!

  6. Thanks Jenny! Let me know how your ungelled batch turns out. So far my ungelled bars are turning fairly hard and no zap after 3 days so that's pretty much the same as my gelled soap.
    Blessings!

  7. Those colors are so pretty! I have never tried putting soap in the freezer. I think I would be too impatient waiting for it to thaw and then trying to get it out of the mold. I am dying to see my milk soap that I left at room temp (instead of doing oven process). I just got it out of the mold today after about a week and need to let it sit another day before I can cut it!
